Health & Wellness

Thailand is one of the world’s leading destinations for private healthcare, and Bangkok is its center. If you have a few spare days and already wanted a check-up, a dental clean, or new glasses, world-class care is fast, English-speaking, and a fraction of the cost back home. Here is how to approach it calmly.

Bangkok’s International Hospitals

These private hospitals are used to international patients: English-speaking staff, international desks, and clear published check-up packages. Prices vary by package, age, and what is included.

Some hospital promotions are limited to Thai nationals or residents. If you are visiting, confirm eligibility and current pricing with the hospital’s international desk before you book.

The everyday wellness

Thai Massage & Spa

You do not need a hospital to feel the wellness side of Thailand. A traditional Thai massage is cheap, everywhere, and one of the great simple pleasures of a trip: an hour of stretching and pressure work that resets you after a long travel day.

Prices vary widely, from modest neighborhood shops to plush hotel spas. For the classic, visit the massage school at Wat Pho, the temple that is the home of traditional Thai massage.

About this guide

Written by Belle, a Thai American who travels to Thailand every other year and has family in Bangkok. Everything here comes from my own visits unless the text says otherwise. Prices and journey times are typical cases rather than quotes, so recheck anything time-sensitive before you pay. Brand mentions are never paid placements, and the guide is reader-supported: some links may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
